Regional Liaison: Hillary McMichael

Young KWPN-NA Members: 8

Hillary McMichael is an adult amateur that has experience in Hunters, Jumpers, and Eventing. With a B.A. in finance and accounting she works as a business analysts for a global financial services firm which helps support her equestrian endeavors.

Hillary started to develop a passion for sport horse breeding when she moved her horses to Harpeth Meadow Stables, after a relocation to Nashville, TN, where Amanda Lorinc breeds a small number of quality Dutch Warmbloods. Amanda's mare Eclipse SCF Elite (by Balou Du Rouet and out of Nova Keur Prestatie the full sister to Judgement ISF) bred by Karin Jimenez at Sporting Chance Farm sparked Hillary's interest in sport horse breeding and spurred a dream to breed sport horses herself one day.

In 2016 Hillary went on the search for a well-bred jumper prospect filly. She hoped to find a horse that would be the foundation mare for a future breeding program and found Laguna Star who was bred by Joan Vijan at DHS Farms. Luna, as she is affectionately referred to, is a 2016 filly by Big Star and out of D'Amour VDL (Douglas x Zeus x Ahorn Z) who is out of a half-sister to the dam of Numero Uno. Hillary has high hopes for this filly and cannot wait to see what the future holds.

In the meantime Hillary looks forward to being a part of the up and coming YKWPN-NA organization and meeting other like-minded Young KWPWN-NA members.

Young KWPN-NA Members: 12

Kate resides in central New Hampshire where she owns and operates a boarding and training facility focusing on dressage and eventing, SMF Equine Services LLC. She has been involved with horses since the age of 3 and competes in dressage. Currently she is bringing along her young 3 year old KWPN gelding Ionesco SSF who has an exciting season ahead. He just started under saddle preparing for his IBOP at this years Keuring.

Kate has always had a passion for dressage and riding but only recently became involved with the KWPN when purchasing Ionesco SSF as a young horse project in the fall of 2015. After attending Keuring in 2016 she was hooked upon meeting all the passionate members, breeders and riders.

With big plans in the works, Kate intends on starting her own breeding program with a newly a acquired broodmare, as well as opening a schooling venue this summer at her home property. Shady Maple Farm will offer schooling opportunities in their large sand dressage arena, grass jump course and a cross country course to include its own water complex.
